it starts in my toes.
We all do have some particular person(s) that we dislike for some reason or another. Like, we dislike them because of the way they talk, how annoying and revolting they sound in their published blog entries because of their style in blogging (heh heh), because of how uncouth their behaviours are, because of the fact that they simply couldn't resist main-main mata with your boyfriend, so on and so forth.
But the thing is, as much as how these people that we disliked get onto our nerves, they themselves do have their own group of friends who love them for who they are. Yes, as scornfully as you may retort, saying that their friends are just as uncouth as they are (similar properties la kirakan), at least they have friends, don't they? That means there must be something about that person that we dislike that is lovable after all. There must be something about that person that may cause that person whom we apparently dislike, to be a friend after all. But the only thing is, we spend so much time and energy disliking that person, amplifying all his/her flaws to the maximum, that we don't even bother opening the other eye to see the good side of that person. Haha but in most cases, if we already don't like that person, we'll just end up disliking the whole clique of friends that he/she has. Tragic, isn't it? Most of the time, anyway, we tend to dislike a person because he/she reflects our own negative personalities. We may not realise our own flaws ourselves but when another person was to portray it through their actions, we end up not liking that person because it reminds you of your ownself and you don't like what you see. I guess it's just normal for us, you know, shifting the blame onto others so it won't make you feel so bad. There's this malay peribahasa saying about how you can even spot a germ/bacteria on the island across the ocean but you simply couldn't notice the elephant that is right in front of your eyes (aku sumpah tak ingat how the actual peribahasa goes. hahahaha. direct translation, beb). Simply said, you can point and spot other people's flaws/wrongdoings but you'll never realise your own imperfection/mistakes. Everybody wants to feel good, everybody wants to be liked by everybody else but come to think of it, that's just unattainable. I really don't know where this blog entry is heading to but it's just something that I've been pondering about after being a punching bag for some friends to vent into. You know, pondering about how come we have this negative feelings towards another person and stuff. Ohwell. And, being me, I don't think first and let anger take over me first before rationalising things out with my ownself. Haha, I like the way I work. Anyway, think about it yea. Don't waste your time and energy focusing on just disliking a person. It's not worth it. If that person has done something so despicable that is beyond your code of righteous morals then, don't give him/her the satisfaction of seeing you affected by it. You know you're no angel yourself :) Come to think of it, I'm not myself. Nyeah. p/s: don't say that i didn't tell you i really don't know where this blogpost is heading to. haha, i don't find that it makes much of a sense anyway but i think there's some content in this. p/p/s: okay i'm starting to babble. p/p/p/s: make love, not war. aah, i think that's one of the points which i'm trying to bring across in this entry. p/p/p/p/s: you can stop reading already, you know. p/p/p/p/s: last post-script! Uuhh..yahlah. that's the last post-script. Labels: word diarrhoea |
